Message Archive Utility

Privacy

Privacy and local files

Message Archive Utility imports from an unencrypted iPhone backup stored on your Mac. Import, search, and export use the local archive; messages are not uploaded for those steps.

What stays on your Mac

The imported archive is stored locally. Browse, search, and export use that local archive.

What the app imports

The private beta imports message data from an unencrypted local iPhone backup stored on your Mac.

What the app does not upload

Messages are not sent to a website for import, search, or export. The app does not provide a remote message inbox.

Backups and exported files

You choose where to keep iPhone backups and exported files. If you move, share, or delete an export, that copy is outside the app's control.

Private beta support expectations

Private beta support will focus on install issues, backup confusion, import problems, search behavior, and export results.
